Job Description

We are hiring a Senior NPI Engineer – Electrical to support the end-to-end industrialization of embedded electronic systems. You will bridge the gap between electrical design, firmware validation, and mass production, with a particular focus on SMT/PCBA production processes, test development, and manufacturing troubleshooting.

This role is ideal for an experienced EE engineer who understands circuit design and hardware/firmware testing, and who can also lead process improvement initiatives at the factory level for SMT and PCBA manufacturing.

What You'll Do

Collaborate with electrical and firmware teams to ensure design intent is met through EVT/DVT(PVT)/MP builds, with high reliability and yield.

Review and provide feedback on schematics and PCB layout from a manufacturability and testability perspective.

Work with firmware teams to plan and execute validation of embedded functions, ensuring alignment with hardware and system requirements. Work with FW teams to conduct end-to-end testing of vehicle functions.

Lead or support failure analysis (FA) and root cause investigations across development and production builds, covering both hardware and firmware issues.

Provide on-site debugging of vehicle issues to differentiate hardware and firmware issues.

Guide SMT process optimization, including stencil design, paste printing, reflow profiling, component placement, and AOI/ICT tuning.

Collaborate with EMS/CMs to evaluate and improve PCBA process capability, identifying bottlenecks or quality issues.

Drive improvements in DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFT (Design for Test) for future product iterations.

Participate in and lead engineering builds (EVT/DVT/PVT) at supplier factories, ensuring issues are closed in real time and lessons learned are captured.

Support test fixture development and debug for PCBA functional testing.

Act as the electrical NPI liaison between R&D and manufacturing to ensure seamless ramp and sustained production quality.

About You

Strong foundation in electrical engineering, including analog/digital circuit design, power electronics, and MCU-based system integration.

Experienced in embedded system validation and familiar with firmware testing tools, methods, and debugging strategies.

Deep understanding of SMT & PCBA processes, including yield optimization, reflow profile tuning, and line-level troubleshooting.

Skilled in guiding manufacturing partners through technical issues, corrective actions, and best practices.

Hands-on with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, etc.

Familiar with FMEA, 8D, fishbone diagrams, and similar root cause tools.

Proficient in tools like SolidWorks (for fixture review), Altium/OrCAD (schematic review), and test log tracking systems.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Chinese or Vietnamese fluency is a plus.

Willingness to travel frequently to factory sites across Southeast Asia or other global locations.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.

5+ years of experience in EE NPI, covering both hardware validation and PCBA production support.

Proven track record of launching consumer electronics, e-mobility, or automotive electronic systems into mass production.

Familiarity with automated test equipment (ATE), ICT, AOI, and functional testers for PCBA lines
